Did you know that over 55 million tons of paper is recycled in America everyday.  Think about it – Most of us are terrible at recycling.  What this means it that there are hundreds of millions of tons of trash hauled away to dumps everyday.  Trash that is FULL of recyclable paper, not to mention glass and plastics.   Yes, 55 million tons is good, but we need to do much better.

Fortunately we are becoming more earth friendly and encouraging people to make better use of their waste.  A Michigan company called DTE Energy actually buys peoples old energy-wasting refrigerators and recycles them.

Many other companies are doing similar things with old computer monitors.  Remember when computer monitors took up half your desk?  With the advent of flat panel, those old monitors are being junked and rather than just throwing them in the dump, they’re being recycled for the many valuable plastics, metals and other parts within them.
